India qualifies for AVC Men's Volleyball Asian Championship quarter-finals

The Indian men's volleyball team has qualified for the quarter-finals of the AVC Men's Asian Volleyball Championship in Fukuoka, Japan. This marks India's first appearance in the continental tournament's quarter-finals since 2019.

India secured its position after Bahrain defeated Oman 3-0 on Wednesday. This result ensured that India, as one of the two best-ranked third-place teams in the pools, would advance to the final eight. India's qualification followed a decisive 3-0 victory over New Zealand on Tuesday, where captain Jerome Vinith Charles led the team with 19 points.

The tournament serves as a qualification event for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games and the 2027 FIVB Men's Volleyball World Cup. In Pool A, Japan secured the top spot after defeating Australia 3-0, while Australia finished second.
