India reaffirms commitment to strengthening partnership with Armenia
India has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its longstanding partnership with Armenia. Rudrendra Tandon, Secretary (East) at the Ministry of External Affairs, represented India at the National Day celebrations of the Republic of Armenia, expressing a desire to advance cooperation across various sectors of mutual interest.
Defence ties between the two nations have seen recent significant activity. Earlier this month, a five-member delegation from the Armenian Armed Forces, led by Major General Alexander Tsakanyan, visited an Indian Air Force station under the Western Air Command to tour operational and maintenance facilities. The Indian Air Force noted that the visit aimed to foster mutual understanding, knowledge sharing, and operational interoperability.
This follows a visit to Yerevan in August by Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, during which the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding regarding cooperation in defence research, development, innovation, and joint production.
