India real estate market projected to reach $1 trillion by 2030
India’s real estate market is projected to reach a $1 trillion valuation by 2030, up from approximately $600 billion in 2025. According to a CREDAI-ANAROCK report released at the NATCON 2026 convention in Kolkata, the sector’s contribution to India’s GDP is expected to rise from 6% in 2017 to roughly 13% by 2030. Employment within the industry is forecasted to reach 30 million people by the end of the decade.
Growth is being driven by sustained residential demand, office expansion, and the emergence of Tier-II and Tier-III cities. In the office sector, global capability centres accounted for about 45% of leasing in the first half of 2026. Additionally, artificial intelligence is increasingly influencing the value chain, including market analysis, project planning, and construction.
As the market expands, there is a growing emphasis on regulatory frameworks like RERA to build buyer confidence. With housing prices rising, industry experts note that transparency and developer credibility are becoming essential business assets to reduce uncertainty for homebuyers.
