Indian authorities dismantled the external security perimeter outside the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, removing traffic bollards, barricades, and queue-management structures. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) described the move as a “proportionate action” in response to Pakistani authorities removing security structures and parking poles outside the Indian High Commission in Islamabad three days earlier.

The demolition, which utilized heavy machinery, targeted structures deemed to be outside the mission’s approved boundaries. While the main diplomatic compound remained intact, the removal of the outer security layers has heightened diplomatic friction between the two nations.

This development coincides with a separate diplomatic dispute involving the United States. During a visit to Srinagar, US Ambassador Sergio Gor referred to Jammu and Kashmir as an “important part of India.” In response, Pakistan summoned US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker to lodge a formal protest, rejecting the remarks and maintaining that the region's status remains a matter for the United Nations and the Kashmiri people.
