India reports two major home robbery cases totaling over ₹6 crore
In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, four masked men broke into a businessman’s residence early on Monday, held the couple at knife‑point and stole approximately ₹4.6 lakh in cash and jewellery. Police have opened an investigation based on CCTV footage and are searching for suspects aged around 30.
In Ajmer, Rajasthan, a nephew of the victim and his wife entered the home using a spare key and stole cash and gold‑silver jewellery worth about ₹1.5 crore on 1 July. The pair were arrested after police recovered the stolen items through technical and CCTV analysis.
Both incidents highlight a rise in audacious home‑theft crimes in India, prompting local police to intensify investigative efforts.
