India's commercial LPG cylinder prices cut by up to Rs 183.5 amid broader fuel‑price relief
State‑owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) reduced the retail price of 19‑kg commercial LPG cylinders by up to Rs 183.5 per cylinder, effective 1 July 2026. New city‑wise rates include Rs 2,930 in Delhi, Rs 2,954.50 in Chandigarh, Rs 3,081.50 in Kolkata and Rs 3,227 in Patna. The price of the 5‑kg free‑trade LPG cylinder was also lowered by Rs 13 in Delhi to Rs 808.50. Prices for the 14.2‑kg domestic LPG cylinder remained unchanged, so household consumers saw no relief.
At the same time, private fuel retailer Nayara Energy announced a nationwide cut of Rs 5 per litre for petrol and Rs 3 per litre for diesel, the first reduction by any Indian retailer in more than two years. The cuts were applied across all Nayara stations on 1 July 2026, providing immediate savings for motorists while public‑sector OMCs kept their pump prices unchanged.
Both moves were triggered by a slowdown in international crude‑oil prices after easing tensions in West Asia, and they aim to pass on lower global oil costs to Indian consumers and commercial businesses.
The government also adjusted export duties on petroleum products, raising the levy on petrol exports while lowering those on diesel and aviation turbine fuel, but these changes do not affect domestic retail prices.
