India restores full LPG supply for commercial and industrial users

The Indian central government has lifted all sector‑based restrictions on non‑domestic packed LPG, returning supply to the levels that existed before the West‑Asia tensions. Bulk LPG imports, which were halted during the crisis, have been resumed at about 50 % of pre‑crisis consumption, easing pressure on hotels, restaurants, small factories and other commercial users.

Domestic LPG cylinders for household cooking are unaffected; the government assures that availability and prices will remain stable. Domestic production is expected to stay above 40 000 metric tonnes per day, and the C3‑C4 gas streams that were previously directed to LPG will now be allocated more to petrochemical and other industrial needs.

The decision is aimed at reducing production costs for businesses and maintaining a balanced energy supply while keeping household consumers protected.
