The Indian Ministry of Finance has issued new notifications revising central excise levies on the export of petroleum products, effective August 15, 2026. These changes follow a previous revision implemented on August 3, 2026.
Under Notification No. 43/2026-Central Excise, the Special Additional Excise Duty (SAED) on exported petrol has been reduced to Nil, down from the Rs. 3.50 per litre rate set earlier this month. Similarly, Notification No. 45/2026-Central Excise has changed the Road and Infrastructure Cess (RIC) on exported high-speed diesel to Nil, reversing the Rs. 1.50 per litre rate applied on August 3.
Regarding Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF), Notification No. 44/2026-Central Excise sets the duty rate at Rs. 19.50 per litre. This represents a reduction of Rs. 2.50 per litre from the previous rate of Rs. 22 per litre.
