More than 3,300 buyers from 138 countries have registered for the Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) 2026, signaling strong global interest in Indian rice exports. The event is scheduled to take place from October 23 to 25 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
Bangladesh has registered the highest number of participants with 336 buyers, followed by Benin with 179 and Nigeria with 177. Other significant registrations include the United Arab Emirates (145), Nepal (137), the Philippines (137), Ethiopia (127), and Saudi Arabia (125). The participation spans Africa, the Gulf, Southeast Asia, and neighboring regions.
Dev Garg, Vice President of the Indian Rice Exporters' Federation, stated that the goal is to convert this international participation into new trade routes and long-term business relationships. The conference will utilize an app-based B2B matchmaking system to connect overseas buyers directly with Indian exporters, millers, and technology providers.
