India rideshare users face harassment incidents in Bengaluru and Agartala

A woman waiting for a cab in Bengaluru's Ramamurthy Nagar alleged that a man on a scooter approached her, asked "What's your rate?" and harassed her before fleeing when she began recording the incident. She posted the video on social media, prompting the Bengaluru Police to open an investigation and verify the vehicle registration number she provided.

Separately, Uber driver Sriram Debnath filed a police complaint after a group of auto‑rickshaw drivers at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala surrounded his vehicle, forced open the car door, snatched the ignition key and prevented him from completing a booked trip. The Transport Department issued a show‑cause notice to auto driver Jhutan Acharjee for the alleged obstruction and intimidation, warning of possible licence suspension.

Both incidents highlight concerns over safety and harassment faced by ride‑hailing passengers and drivers in Indian cities.
