India Secures 20 Medals with Four Gold at U‑20 Asian Wrestling Championships
Indian wrestlers captured a total of 20 medals – four gold, seven silver and nine bronze – at the Under‑20 Asian Wrestling Championships held in Pattaya. The team placed second overall in the women’s freestyle rankings with 184 points, narrowly behind China, and third in the men’s freestyle standings with 152 points, behind Kazakhstan and Iran.
Gold medal performances came from Parveen (50 kg), Muskan (53 kg) and Kajal (76 kg) in the women’s division, and Sumit Kumar Laxman Bharaskar (70 kg) in the men’s freestyle. Individual silver and bronze medals were also earned across multiple weight categories, contributing to India’s strong podium presence throughout the tournament.
