India sees spate of high‑value mobile phone thefts

In Vadodara, Gujarat, two masked thieves entered the ‘Phone Book’ mobile showroom on Ajwa Road and stole around 77 smartphones—including iPhone, Samsung and Vivo models—valued at more than ₹5 million. The robbery was captured on the shop’s CCTV cameras, and police have collected fingerprint and video evidence while launching a hunt for the suspects.

In Nasik, police arrested 25‑year‑old Dhanraj Vagh after he attacked an elderly man with a stone, seriously injuring him and stealing an Oppo phone worth ₹20,000. The assault and theft were also recorded on CCTV; investigators recovered the stolen phone and detained the suspect for further legal action.
