India seizes 1,000 metres of counterfeit army uniforms in Rajasthan

The Indian Army’s intelligence units and Rajasthan Police carried out a coordinated raid on July 30 in the Sriganganagar district of Rajasthan. Officials seized roughly 1,000 metres of unauthorised army‑pattern combat cloth, along with combat boots, caps, laces and other Army‑related items, from a number of shops across the district, including locations on Railway Station Road.

The operation followed an earlier seizure of similar counterfeit cloth in Bareilly in June, which led investigators to a local manufacturing firm supplying the material to markets in Sriganganagar, Lalgarh Jattan, Suratgarh and other nearby towns. Authorities warned that possession, sale or use of the restricted‑pattern fabric is a punishable offence and poses a serious security risk by enabling impersonation of armed‑forces personnel. The investigation into the shop owners and the broader supply network continues.
