India delivered its best ever boxing performance at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, winning seven gold and three silver medals for a total of ten boxing medals. The golds were secured by women’s boxers Jaismine Lamboria (57 kg), Priya Ghanghas (60 kg), Preeti Pawar (54 kg), Sakshi Chaudhary (51 kg) and Arundhati Choudhary (70 kg), and by men’s boxers Sachin Siwach (60 kg) and Ankush Panghal (70 kg). On the same day India amassed 16 medals overall – seven gold, five silver and three bronze – propelling the nation from tenth to fourth place in the Games’ medal table. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the athletes on his X account, highlighting Siwach’s gold and Borgohain’s silver. The day also saw para‑athlete Soman Rana win India’s first Commonwealth gold in the men’s F57 shot put.
