India student assaulted during NEET protest amid ABVP accusations
A 19‑year‑old student and member of the All India Students’ Association (AISA) was attacked by four masked men on two motorcycles near BEL Circle in Bengaluru. The assailants questioned the student about demanding Prime Minister Modi’s resignation before beating him, leaving the victim with serious leg injuries that required a cast. AISA alleges the attackers were members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and links the assault to ongoing protests against a NEET question‑paper leak and calls for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
In a separate incident in Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, 48‑year‑old former village sarpanch Gurajala Rama Tulasi, who had been declared dead at a private hospital while undergoing treatment for renal problems, showed signs of life after the ambulance transporting her body hit a pothole. Doctors at a second private hospital detected a faint pulse, and she was later moved to a government hospital and placed on a ventilator. The unexpected revival sparked emotional reactions among family and villagers awaiting her funeral rites.
