India teacher eligibility exams scheduled for late 2026

Several major teacher eligibility tests in India have confirmed schedules for late 2026. In Uttar Pradesh, the Special Teacher Eligibility Test (Special TET) is set for November 3, 2026. The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission will conduct the exam in two shifts across six divisional headquarters: Prayagraj, Lucknow, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Meerut, and Agra. Candidates can download their admit cards starting October 31.

In Bihar, the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2026 begins on October 25 and will continue in computer-based mode until November 21. The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has rescheduled the exam previously set for November 4 to November 21. Strict guidelines have been issued, including prohibitions on footwear like shoes and socks, as well as henna, nail polish, or tattoos to ensure accurate biometric attendance.

Additionally, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the December 2026 session for UGC-NET and CSIR-NET. Over 218,000 candidates have applied for these exams, which are scheduled to take place between December 14 and December 19, 2026. The NTA will provide pens at the examination centers and has prohibited the use of watches.
