India tennis players prepare for Davis Cup and Asian Games

India’s junior tennis talent Tavish Pahwa has been named captain of the national team for the Junior Davis Cup Finals. The tournament is scheduled to take place from November 2 to 8 at the Smash Sporting Club in Cairo, Egypt. Pahwa, the reigning National U-18 and U-16 champion, will be joined by teammates Ribhav Saroha and Hruthik Katakam, with Rana Banerjee serving as coach.

Separately, Davis Cup non-playing captain Rohit Rajpal expressed confidence in India’s ability to secure medals at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. Rajpal noted that the tennis contingent must first navigate a challenging Davis Cup Qualifiers Round 2 tie against South Korea in Seoul, scheduled for September 18 and 19, before transitioning to the multi-sport event.
