World Circular Economy Forum 2026 begins in Gandhinagar

The World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF) 2026 has commenced in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, marking the first time the event is being hosted in South Asia. Organized under the theme ‘Circular Economy: Transition for People and Prosperity’, the forum aims to showcase India’s initiatives in promoting circularity and strengthening international cooperation.

The event is being jointly organized by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) of India, the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra, the Government of Finland, India’s Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, the Government of Gujarat, and the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB).

The forum is expected to host over 2,000 stakeholders from more than 65 countries, including policymakers, business leaders, and researchers. Key objectives include mobilizing circular finance, encouraging private-sector investment, and advancing innovation and digitalization to support the reuse, refurbishment, and recycling of materials within the economy.
