India uncovers two major corruption scandals in Bihar and Ayodhya

In Purnia, Bihar, Special Vigilance Unit officers arrested Pradhan Development Officer Rajkumar Chaudhary after catching him accepting a 46,000‑rupee bribe. A search of his government residence recovered 125,000 rupees in cash and several documents, prompting further investigation.

Separately, a security guard at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya discovered 40,000 rupees hidden in a bathroom, triggering a probe that uncovered a larger donation theft scheme. Police have seized about 80 lakh rupees in cash, jewellery and a vehicle, and have arrested eight suspects after reviewing CCTV footage that showed repeated cash‑skimming by temple staff.

Both incidents highlight ongoing corruption investigations by Indian authorities in different regions.
