Former Indian opener Abhinav Mukund said England’s short‑pitched bowling has been a pattern throughout the two‑match ODI series, highlighting Jofra Archer’s effectiveness. He noted that England’s seamers forced India into pull shots on larger square boundaries, contributing to India being bowled out for 233 and England winning the second ODI by four wickets.

Mukund also urged India’s selectors to include left‑arm wrist‑spinner Kuldeep Yadav for the decisive third ODI at Lord’s, arguing that the team management does not trust him enough. He pointed to the injury‑replacement of Washington Sundar by Harsh Dubey and suggested that an attacking spinner is essential on the flat surface, saying, “You have to trust seven batters to score runs, but you also need a spinner like Kuldeep Yadav.”
