India and West Indies share T20I series after rain-hit decider

The five-match T20I series between India and the West Indies ended in a 2-2 draw after the final deciding match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru was abandoned due to persistent rain.

In the final encounter, officials reduced the match to nine overs per side. India reached 118/5 in 7.4 overs, fueled by Ishan Kishan’s 30 off 10 balls and Naman Dhir’s unbeaten 24 off six balls, before heavy rain forced the umpires to call off play. As a result, both teams shared the series trophy.

The series featured high-scoring matches and significant individual performances. West Indies captain Shai Hope was named Player of the Series, having scored two centuries during the tour. India’s Shreyas Iyer was awarded the Impact Player of the Series medal after finishing as the third-highest run-getter with 181 runs.

Despite the draw, analysts noted several vulnerabilities in the Indian side, including inconsistent middle-order batting and challenges in death-over bowling. The West Indies demonstrated strong aggressive batting throughout the contest, successfully chasing large totals in previous matches.
