India weather: Thunderstorms and rain forecast for Bengaluru and West Bengal

Various regions in India are experiencing unsettled weather conditions characterized by clouds and rain. In Bengaluru, the India Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms and spells of rain for Wednesday afternoon. Temperatures in the city are expected to range between 20°C and 29°C, with overcast skies likely to persist throughout the week. Air quality is predicted to remain in the ‘satisfactory’ to ‘fair’ range.

In West Bengal, the Alipore Met Office predicts scattered thunderstorms across the state, specifically affecting Kolkata and surrounding areas. Despite the absence of a low-pressure system, heavy showers are expected in North Bengal districts such as Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri. High humidity levels, reaching approximately 81%, are expected to contribute to sultry and uncomfortable conditions in Kolkata, where temperatures are forecasted to reach a maximum of 33°C.
