India finishes fourth with 39 medals at Commonwealth Games 2026

India concluded the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games with a haul of 39 medals – 13 gold, 17 silver and 9 bronze – placing fourth in the overall medal table behind Australia, England and Canada. The tally was driven by a historic boxing performance that yielded seven golds and three silvers, the nation’s best ever at a single Games. Judokas Asmita De and Harsh Singh each secured gold, while Ishroop Narang missed a bronze on the final day. Gulveer Singh became the first Indian track‑and‑field athlete to win two medals in one edition, taking silver in the 10,000 m and bronze in the 5,000 m. Mirabai Chanu repeated her dominance with a gold in the women’s 48 kg weight‑lifting event. In para sport, Jhandu Kumar earned bronze in heavyweight power‑lifting, and India collected three gold, two silver and two bronze medals across para disciplines. The campaign ended without any cycling medals, and the final day produced no additional podium finishes. Indian boxer Lavlina Borgohain added a silver in the women’s 75 kg division and dedicated her medal to flood‑affected communities in Assam.
