India wrestlers win gold at U23 Asian Championships in Vietnam
Indian freestyle wrestlers continued their strong performance at the U23 Asian Championships in Da Nang, Vietnam, securing four additional medals on day four. Kumar Mohit captured gold in the 65 kg class with a 12‑4 win over Kyrgyzstan's Oskonbai A. Abdisamatov, while Chandermohan clinched the 79 kg title after a 7‑6 victory against Kazakhstan's Yerkhan Abil. Deepak earned silver in the 61 kg division and another Indian wrestler named Deepak took bronze in the 74 kg category. The day's results raised India's freestyle tally to nine medals overall. Additional podium finishes included a silver for Kumar Punit (92 kg), bronze for Mor Sachin (86 kg) and a silver for Lacky (125 kg). WFI President Sanjay Singh praised the squad’s consistency and expressed optimism for further medals.
