India‑Côte d’Ivoire ties highlighted as Kirti Vardhan Singh attends Independence Day

Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh arrived in Abidjan on 7 August to take part in Côte d’Ivoire’s 66th Independence Day celebrations. In a post on X he said, “Warm greetings and felicitations to the Government and the people of Côte d’Ivoire… India deeply values its warm and enduring friendship with Côte d’Ivoire and remains committed to further strengthening our close and multifaceted partnership.” An Indian armed forces marching contingent also joined the ceremony, underscoring the deepening bilateral goodwill.

The visit followed recent defence talks in New Delhi, where Air Chief Marshal A P Singh met with Côte d’Ivoire Air Force chief Major General Koffi N’Guessan to discuss expanding defence cooperation and military‑to‑military engagement. The meetings and the Independence Day participation signal a strengthening of political, security and cultural links between the two nations.
