India‑Israel defence ties broaden toward Greece and Cyprus

Amnesty International reports that between October 2023 and November 2025 India shipped at least 2,596 batches of weapons, ammunition, parts and components to Israel, underscoring India’s role as Israel’s top defence customer – about 29 % of Israel’s 2021‑2025 defence exports.

Maj. Gen. (Res.) Amir Baram, director‑general of Israel’s Ministry of Defence, is steering a wider strategic partnership that links India, the United Arab Emirates, Greece and Cyprus. In June 2026 Baram led a delegation to New Delhi, meeting Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and senior Indian officials to discuss co‑development, technology sharing and a regional security architecture stretching “from India, through the UAE, to Greece and Cyprus.” The vision aims to combine Israel’s combat‑proven technology with India’s naval reach and the geopolitical footholds of Greece and Cyprus in the southeastern Mediterranean.
