Indian air ambulance patient dies after emergency landing in Bangladesh
An Indian air ambulance made an emergency landing at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Sunday after a technical malfunction caused its cabin door to partially open mid-flight. The Beechcraft King Air C90A, operated by SKB Infracon Pvt Ltd, was traveling from Agartala to Kolkata when it encountered a cabin pressurization fault while climbing through 12,000 feet.
While the aircraft landed safely, the patient, 56-year-old Anjana Bhowmik, died after being transported to Kurmitola Multicare Specialised Hospital. The exact cause of her death remains unconfirmed, and it is currently unclear if the aircraft's mechanical failure contributed to her passing or if it was due to existing medical complications.
Seven people were on board, including two pilots, a doctor, a paramedic, and two companions; all others were reported safe. Bangladeshi authorities permitted the unscheduled international landing on humanitarian grounds, and the Indian High Commission in Dhaka coordinated with local officials to manage diplomatic clearances.
