Indian Air Force adopts predictive AI and digital twin technology
Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh has announced that the force is integrating predictive artificial intelligence and digital twin technology into its defence planning. Speaking in Kanpur, Singh noted that these tools allow the IAF to forecast future scenarios and improve decision-making processes.
By utilizing digital twins—virtual models of physical systems—the IAF aims to analyze potential outcomes and prepare for various possibilities. Singh also emphasized the necessity of data sharing among stakeholders to foster collective learning and ensure that past mistakes are not repeated. He highlighted that as modern warfare becomes increasingly driven by technology, the adoption of machine learning and data-driven systems is essential for maintaining operational effectiveness and preparedness.
