Indian Air Force Chief declares no target beyond reach following Operation Sindoor

Air Chief Marshal AP Singh stated that the Indian Air Force (IAF) has demonstrated that no target is beyond its operational reach. This follows ‘Operation Sindoor,’ a four-day military operation conducted in May last year in response to the Pahalgam terror attack. The operation involved precision strikes across a 1,200-kilometer-wide and 200-kilometer-deep area along the western front, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied territories.

Singh described the mission as a validation of the IAF’s capability-centric approach and its role as a primary strategic deterrent. He noted that several indigenously manufactured weapons performed exceptionally well during the strikes. The Air Chief Marshal emphasized that the IAF maintained a commitment to ‘zero collateral damage’ during the mission.

Regarding military integration, Singh clarified that ‘theaterization’ aims to optimize air power within a joint framework rather than permanently dividing aircraft by geography. He stressed that future multi-domain conflicts will require closer coordination between the Army, Navy, and Air Force to ensure effective command and decentralized responsibility.
