Indian and US Navies to hold 8th EOD exercise in Kochi
The Indian Navy and the US Navy are scheduled to conduct the eighth edition of their joint Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) exercise in Kochi from August 10 to 14, 2026. Held at the Southern Naval Command, the five-day bilateral drill focuses on enhancing interoperability and professional cooperation between the specialist diving and EOD teams of both nations.
The exercise will include Subject Matter Expert Exchanges, cross-training sessions, equipment demonstrations, and practical exercises based on operational scenarios. These activities are designed to facilitate the exchange of contemporary EOD methodologies, emerging technologies, and operational best practices. Participants will work to refine procedures and improve their ability to respond to complex and evolving explosive ordnance threats in maritime environments.
The Indian and US navies have been conducting joint Salvage and EOD exercises since 2005, highlighting a long-standing commitment to specialized maritime operational cooperation.
