Indian Archer Sahil Jadhav Draws Inspiration from Australian Cricketer Shane Watson Ahead of 2026 Asian Games

Sahil Jadhav, a 25‑year‑old Indian archer, is targeting a medal at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi‑Nagoya, Japan. He credits Australian all‑rounder Shane Watson as a key source of motivation after reading Watson’s book “The Winner’s Mindset,” which helped him manage pressure and stay focused during competition.

Jadhav began archery at 19 and spent seven years before winning his first national title. In 2024 he claimed his inaugural national medal, followed by gold at the senior nationals and a gold‑silver double at the 2025 World University Games. Earlier this year he earned a bronze in the men’s individual compound event at the Archery World Cup Stage 2 in Shanghai. He now trains at the Sports Authority of India’s National Centre of Excellence in Kolkata, preparing to face strong archery nations such as South Korea, China and the host Japan at the Asian Games.
