Indian Army Chief Dhiraj Seth reviews Eastern Command corps readiness

Chief of the Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth toured key formations of India's Eastern Command in mid‑July. He first inspected the XXXIII (Trishakti) Corps headquarters in Sukna, West Bengal, which oversees the China border in Sikkim and the strategic Doklam trijunction. The visit included briefings on operational deployments, technological upgrades such as MR‑SAM missiles and aviation assets, and the corps' role in disaster relief.

The following day the COAS visited the IV (Gajraj) Corps in Tezpur, Assam, responsible for security in Assam and parts of Arunachal Pradesh near the Line of Actual Control. He reviewed the corps' three mountain divisions, coordination with civil authorities and Central Armed Police Forces, and the adoption of drones and joint exercises with the Indian Air Force. Across both tours, General Seth praised the troops' professionalism and urged continued jointness and readiness to meet evolving security challenges.
