Indian Army detains 17-year-old girl from PoJK in Rajouri

The Indian Army detained a 17-year-old girl from Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) after she crossed the Line of Control (LoC) into the Nowshera sector of Rajouri district.

During routine surveillance in the Lam sector, army personnel detected suspicious movement near the border and intercepted the minor. The girl, identified as S. Azeem, daughter of Mohd Azeem from Khuiretta, reportedly told officials during preliminary questioning that she had inadvertently crossed the border.

The Indian Army has handed the girl over to the local Nowshera police for further investigation and identity verification. Authorities are working to determine if the crossing was accidental, such as getting lost, or if there were other motives. If the crossing is confirmed to be unintentional, the individual is typically repatriated to Pakistan through designated crossing points following military coordination and flag meetings.
