Indian Army launches Mount Trishul expedition

The Indian Army’s Corps of Engineers has launched a mountaineering expedition to Mount Trishul in the Garhwal Himalayas. The team, consisting of officers, Junior Commissioned Officers, and other ranks, was formally flagged off from the Bengal Engineer Group & Centre in Roorkee.

Standing at an altitude of 7,120 meters (approximately 23,360 feet), the mission is designed to test the physical endurance, technical proficiency, psychological resilience, and teamwork of the personnel in extreme high-altitude environments. The expedition faces significant challenges, including technical climbing sections, snow-covered terrain, and unpredictable weather conditions.

The flag-off ceremony was attended by several high-ranking military officials, including Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, GOC-in-C of the Central Command, Lieutenant General Vikas Rohela, Engineer-in-Chief, and Lieutenant General SS Dahia, Colonel Commandant of Bengal Sappers and Military Survey.
