Indian Army launches Project Kaushalveer for soldier skill development
The Indian Army has launched ‘Project Kaushalveer’, a skill development initiative designed to provide Agniveers and regular soldiers with industry-recognized training and formal certifications. The program aims to bridge the gap between military service and future civilian employment or higher education by ensuring that skills acquired during service are formally documented and validated.
During the inaugural ‘Skill Day’ event, presided over by Lieutenant General Vipul Singhal, the first batch of Agniveers received secondary and higher secondary certificates. The initiative is part of the Army’s ‘Yoddha First’ approach and its transformative ‘Jai se Vijay’ vision, focusing on empowering soldiers for long-term career success. The event also saw the release of the Project Kaushalveer compendium and NIOS precis, with participation from leaders of the Indira Gandhi National Open University and the National Institute of Open Schooling.
