Indian Army leadership updates and combat readiness reviews

Lieutenant General MP Singh has assumed his role as Chief of Staff of the Indian Army’s Northern Command. In his new position, he will assist the Army Commander in planning and executing operational and administrative responsibilities for a command that oversees sensitive areas including Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

Separately, Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Command, conducted a review of the Golden Arrow Division’s combat readiness. The visit to forward areas focused on assessing the formation’s ability to respond to emerging contingencies and noted the integration of niche technologies to enhance surveillance and battlefield effectiveness along the western frontier.
