Indian athletes achieve victories in badminton and tennis

Indian badminton player Lakshya Sen secured the BWF Super 500 HYLO Open title in Saarbrucken, Germany, after defeating Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie 21-17, 21-10 in the final. Sen noted that while injuries had previously hindered his performance, he has focused on managing training and match loads to regain his form.

In tennis, Indian players Maaya Rajeshwaran Revathi and Vaishnavi Adkar earned their first WTA Tour-level wins at the Chennai Open. Revathi, ranked 669, upset eighth seed Katarzyna Kawa 6-4, 2-6, 7-6(5). Adkar also secured an upset victory against Britain’s Jodie Burrage, winning 3-6, 6-3, 7-5.
