Indian Bank to open 100 new branches and hire 2,500 staff

Indian Bank has announced plans to open approximately 100 new branches during the current financial year. This expansion strategy aims to strengthen the bank’s presence in the central and western regions of India, following a previous strengthening of its footprint in Eastern India and Uttar Pradesh after the 2020 merger with Allahabad Bank.

To support this growth and replace retiring staff, the bank intends to recruit roughly 2,500 personnel, including specialist officers. As of June 30, 2026, the bank operated 6,003 domestic branches, along with three overseas branches in Singapore, Colombo, and Jaffna, and an International Financial Services Centre unit in Gandhinagar.
