Indian banks announce recruitment for Local Bank Officer roles

Major Indian banks are recruiting for Local Bank Officer (LBO) positions.

Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has announced 250 vacancies for the Junior Management Grade Scale-I role across several states, including Tamil Nadu (100), Karnataka (50), Maharashtra (50), and Gujarat (50). Applications are open until August 24. Eligible candidates must hold a degree from a recognized institution, be between 20 and 30 years old, and undergo an online exam, language proficiency test, and personal interview. Monthly salaries for these roles range from ₹48,480 to ₹85,920.

Separately, Punjab National Bank (PNB) is hiring for 545 LBO positions. The application deadline for PNB has been extended to August 16, 2026. Candidates must have a graduation degree and meet the age requirement of 20 to 30 years. The selection process includes a 150-mark exam covering reasoning, data analysis, English, quantitative aptitude, and banking awareness.
