Indian banks close on June 13 as RBI‑mandated second‑Saturday holiday

All public and private banks across India are closed on Saturday, June 13, 2026, marking the official second‑Saturday holiday. The closure follows a rule mandated by the Reserve Bank of India under the Negotiable Instruments Act, formalised in a 2015 agreement between the Indian Banks' Association and employee unions.

While branch doors are shut, ATMs and digital banking platforms such as UPI, IMPS, NEFT and mobile apps remain fully operational, allowing customers to conduct transactions without interruption.
