Indian banks are offering special tenure fixed deposit (FD) schemes with competitive interest rates.

Canara Bank’s 444-day special FD offers an annual interest rate of 6.50% for the general public and 7.00% for senior citizens on deposits below ₹3 crore. This rate is higher than the bank’s standard 1-year-plus-tenure category, which offers 6.25% for general customers and 6.75% for senior citizens.

Utkarsh Small Finance Bank provides a 666-day special FD scheme with an annual interest rate of 8.10% for general investors and 8.25% for senior citizens. These rates apply to deposits of less than ₹3 crore. For a ₹5 lakh investment over 666 days, a senior citizen would earn approximately ₹80,338 in interest.
