Indian boxers Preeti and Jadhumani Singh advance at Commonwealth Games 2026

On July 27 in Glasgow, Indian boxer Preeti defeated Malawi's Debra Mitenje in the round of 16 when the referee stopped the contest, securing a place in the women's 54 kg quarter‑finals. She is scheduled to meet Northern Ireland's Nicole Clyde on July 28.

In the men's 55 kg division, Jadhumani Singh beat Pakistan's Rahman 5‑0 in the round of 16, also moving into the quarter‑finals. India’s medal haul on the same day included weight‑lifting gold for Mirabai Chanu in the women’s 48 kg class and a silver for Rishikant Singh in the men’s 60 kg category.
