India dominates Asian U19/U23 Boxing Championships in Jakarta

The Asian U19 and U23 Boxing Championships were held in Jakarta in mid‑July 2026. Indian boxers posted a commanding performance, with nine athletes reaching finals across the men’s and women’s U19 categories and all eight Indian women securing final berths. India collected multiple medals, including three golds, ten silvers and four bronzes in the women’s events, and six additional bronze medals from semifinal losses. Notable victories included Anggie Intania Chalik’s gold in the U19 women’s light‑flyweight (45‑48 kg) and strong showings by Chahat, Anshika, Megha Sheokand and Prachi Tokas, each advancing to finals with decisive wins. The Indian team’s success is being positioned as a stepping stone toward qualification for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Host nation Indonesia also saw two of its female boxers, Anggie Intania Chalik and Dira Artika, reach the finals, underscoring the depth of competition at the event.
