Indian Coast Guard holds 43rd Commanders Conference in New Delhi

The 43rd Indian Coast Guard Commanders Conference commenced on September 17 in New Delhi. The three-day event, held at the Coast Guard Headquarters, serves as the organization’s highest annual professional forum for senior leadership to discuss strategic, operational, and administrative priorities.

Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth addressed the conference, meeting with Director General Parmesh Shivamani and other senior officers. Discussions are focused on strengthening maritime security, enhancing operational readiness, and addressing emerging challenges in the maritime domain. Key areas of review include capacity building, infrastructure development, training, and personnel management.

The conference also emphasizes the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives, focusing on the indigenization of technology and equipment to meet operational requirements. Furthermore, the event aims to improve coordination and cooperation between the Coast Guard and other branches, including the Chief of Defence Staff and the Chief of Naval Staff, to ensure cohesive national maritime security.
