Indian Consul General visits nationals injured in Houthi attacks

Fahad Suri, the Indian Consul General in Jeddah, visited Indian nationals receiving medical treatment at Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital following recent attacks in Saudi Arabia’s Jazan region. The injured individuals were caught in ballistic missile and drone strikes launched by the Houthi group targeting several Saudi cities, including Jazan, Abha, and Khamis Mushait.

The Consulate General of India in Jeddah stated it is maintaining close contact with hospital authorities, the affected nationals, and their families to provide full support. This follows India’s formal condemnation of the Houthi attacks on September 9, with the Ministry of External Affairs labeling the targeting of civilian and economic facilities as “unacceptable” and a threat to regional stability.

Turki Al-Maliki, spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition, reported that the Houthi group continues to target national assets and infrastructure, accusing the group of an extremist approach aimed at escalating conflict and targeting civilians.
