Indian Consumer Reports Highlight Cookware Safety and EV Ownership Costs

CuminCo released the State of the Indian Kitchen Report, an independent study comparing seven common cookware materials, including enamel cast iron, stainless steel, brass, ceramic‑coated aluminium, pre‑seasoned cast iron, raw cast iron and Teflon non‑stick. The research, conducted with SAGE Sustainability and tested in accredited labs, examined the impact of these surfaces on food safety, nutrient retention and sustainability, noting growing regulatory scrutiny of PFAS chemicals and consumer interest in hidden material exposure.

Separately, an analysis of total cost of ownership for the VinFast VF 6 electric SUV in India showed that, over five years, buyers could save roughly 87 % on energy costs compared with a conventional petrol SUV. Based on typical driving distances and electricity rates, the EV’s charging expense is projected at about INR 1,694 per month versus INR 12,750 for fuel, resulting in a net saving of more than INR 660,000 over the period.
