Indian couple in US advises young Indians against moving abroad

An Indian couple living in the United States has gained social media attention for advising young Indians against moving abroad. In a viral video interview with content creator Darshana, the couple, Suhas and Priyanka, suggested that the motivations for emigration have changed since they originally moved.

Suhas stated that when they first arrived in the US, it was an “easy bet” because securing high-quality jobs and a good quality of life in India was significantly more difficult. However, he now believes that India offers many of the same opportunities that previously drove people to seek careers overseas.

Beyond professional opportunities, the couple highlighted the personal costs of immigration, including the difficulty of leaving family and friends, as well as the struggle to feel accepted in a foreign land. Suhas expressed that if he had the ability to return to India, he would do so.
