Indian Creek Country Club denies membership to Bezos and Trumps

Ultra-wealthy individuals, including Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, have faced difficulties gaining membership at the Indian Creek Country Club in Miami. Despite owning significant property on the island, which is often referred to as the ‘Billionaire Bunker,’ membership is not guaranteed by wealth alone.

To join the club, applicants must be nominated by current members and receive approval from at least 75 percent of the 15-person board. Notably, any single board member can block an application with a dissenting vote. Jeff Bezos has reportedly spent hundreds of millions of dollars on multiple properties on the island but has yet to secure an invitation.

Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump have also struggled to gain entry. Kushner has taken a seat on the Indian Creek Village governing board and helped broker a deal to repair the island’s aging septic system, a move seen as part of a broader effort to gain social standing within the community. Ivanka Trump has reportedly attempted to integrate by attending club events and playing golf with existing members.
