Indian cricketers back Kohli and Sharma for 2027 World Cup

Indian cricketers Rinku Singh and former star Suresh Raina have both expressed support for Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to be included in India's squad for the 2027 ODI World Cup.

Speaking to JioStar, Rinku Singh noted that the presence of the senior players would be a huge moment for the country and could help India reclaim the title they last won in 2011. Singh also expressed his desire to be recognized as an all-format player rather than being defined solely by his T20 performances.

Suresh Raina suggested that having both Kohli and Sharma in the squad would provide India a “90 percent chance” of winning the tournament, which is scheduled to take place in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. Despite concerns regarding their ages—Rohit will be 40 and Kohli 39 at the time—Raina emphasized the value of their immense experience and proven scoring records.
