Indian cricketers undergo mandatory fitness tests in Bengaluru
Following their tour of Sri Lanka, several Indian cricket players have undergone mandatory pre-season fitness assessments at the BCCI Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. Key players including Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, and Yashasvi Jaiswal participated in the evaluations to prepare for an upcoming busy cricket season.
The assessments included high-intensity drills such as the Bronco test, which requires completing a 1200-meter shuttle run within 5 minutes and 30 seconds, as well as a 2-kilometer run to be completed under 10 minutes. The standard Yo-Yo test threshold was set at 16.5. Other players present included Shreyas Iyer, Rinku Singh, Sanju Samson, and Ruturaj Gaikwad.
Certain prominent players, including Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya, did not participate in this initial phase as they are currently undergoing rehabilitation. They will proceed with fitness assessments once cleared by the medical team.
